for Fourth and Fifth Graders

  Fourth and fifth graders can read the nominees for 2010 through April of 2010. In order to be eligible to vote, students must have read or listened to four of the 10 nominees (by the end of March) and to be able to attend the Quiz Bowl, they must have read at least 8 of the nominees. Wiles, Deborah. THE AURORA COUNTY ALL-STARS.
For most of the boys one hot summer in a small Mississippi town, the biggest concern is whether their annual July 4th baseball game will be cancelled due to their county’s anniversary pageant. However, after the death of the old man to whom twelve-year-old star pitcher House Jackson has been secretly reading for a year, House uncovers secrets about the man and the history of baseball in Aurora County that could fix everything.
